Hi, my name is Christine, (312) 285-3144 and I am looking for a Independent living apartment for my brother who is 76. He is a retired seargant of the police department, worked for the Mayor's office and had his own detective agency. However, the criminals blinded him. When Detroit went bankrupt they promised the officers that they would bring their pension back up, but my brother is receiving $509 a month when he was receiving $1800 a month. He receives $2000 social security making his monthly pay $2509. My brother who laid his life on the line for almost 30 years made it safe for the citizens of Detroit to walk the streets safely, especially the women and he has awards to prove it, but he can't afford to live in a nice community and that's very sad and unfair. He arrested a lot of criminals and deserves to be in a safe surroundings. I pray that you will allow my brother to live in your community. He is a really nice guy and can sing too.😊 He is very independent though he is totally blind, but that hasn't stopped him from keeping his place spotless. He vacuums his carpeting in both bedrooms and the living room in his apartment, and he even washes down his bathroom and kitchen and mops the floors. He's very ticky about his food and prepares it in a toaster oven. I know my brother would be an asset to your community if you would just give him a chance.
