How do you bring up a will with your parents?

Ugh, this is such an awkward conversation to have. Mom gets all weird and defensive whenever I try to bring up anything related to her finances or what she wants when she's gone. I know it's important, but I don't want to upset her or make her think I'm after her money. What worked for you? I'm running out of ideas here.
