How long do they have to request the funds of the MIPT - is there a Statute of Limitations they have to request reimbursement from the Trust? There was no estate, etc. I'd like to get this final matter resolved and closed.
Medicare3 months agoIs this discussion inappropriate? You can report this discussion to our moderators.Report to moderatorsMedicare open enrollment is coming up. How do I figure out the which of the plans are best for my dads healthcare needs?Unfortunately dad's got a bunch of health issues and takes a ton of meds, so I want to make sure we pick the right plan. But how do I even start comparing them all? And what about those Medicare Advantage plans? I'm so afraid of messing this up and either leaving Dad without coverage he needs or paying way too much. Thoughts please.

Mom and Dad are in their 70s now and I know we need to start thinking about their future care, but I have no clue where to begin. Should I start to have that conversation with them? I'm worried we'll end up in a crisis situation if we don't plan ahead, but it all seems so complicated.

Between work and taking care of Mom, I barely have time to shower, let alone see friends. I'm starting to feel really isolated and lonely. How do you guys manage to have any kind of life outside of caregiving?

Mom gets all weird and defensive whenever I try to bring up anything related to her finances or what she wants when she's gone. I know it's important, but I don't want to upset her or make her think I'm after her money. What worked for you? I'm running out of ideas here.
