How do you juggle your own finances while also dealing with the out-of-pocket costs for your parents care?

Starting to really struggle to balance my own bills with all the extra expenses for my dad's care. Between co-pays, medications, and equipment that insurance won't cover, it feels like I'm drowning in debt. I've already dipped into my savings and I'm worried about my own financial future.

i had to have a really tough conversation with my siblings about splitting costs. none of us are rich but we worked out that they'd each send $200/month to help. took some drama but worth it. maybe see if family can chip in? also check if your state has any caregiver support programs. i got some help with respite care through that

I feel this so much. Been taking care of my mom for 3 years now and it's rough on the wallet. What's helped me is I finally sat down and made a spreadsheet of ALL the expenses - both hers and mine. Then I called around to every program I could find (Area Agency on Aging was actually helpful!) to see what assistance we qualify for. Still tight but getting better. Also started doing grocery delivery for both of us to save time/gas. Every little bit helps
