How Do I Handle the Emotional Toll of Watching Their Health Decline?

This has been one of the hardest parts of caregiving for me—seeing someone I care about deeply go through these changes. It’s emotionally draining, and there are days when it just feels overwhelming. I often wonder if others feel the same and how you manage to cope with the emotional rollercoaster of watching a loved one's health decline. How do you find comfort or stay strong when faced with such a painful reality? I’d love to hear how others have navigated these feelings, and if there are ways to find some peace amid the heartbreak.

I am creating the best quality of life for my aging Husband of 62 years that I can, we laugh over shared memories and garden side by side. I make his favorite meals and lots of affection, and make sure he always feels safe. This comforts me knowing that I gave him the best end of life possible.
