What changes can I make in the bathroom to make it safer for my husband who has mobility issues?

My husband's mobility has gotten worse lately and I'm worried sick about him falling in the bathroom. We can't afford a full remodel, but I know we need to do something to make it safer for him. Any DIY tips would be great, 'cause hiring someone is probably out of our budget right now.

What’s the best way to handle accidents? My dad tends to wet himself lately... any products that you recommend?
