Are there any financial assistance programs out there for family caregivers to help with costs of caring for a parent?

Not sure what to do. Dad's care is costing way more than we expected and I had to cut back my hours at work. Are there any programs that can help with the financial side of things? Any ideas please as we are starting to struggle.

My mom was assigned a care team through her doctor's office. They are helping me navigate what she might be eligible for.

So, there are a few things you might wanna look into. First, check if your dad qualifies for Medicaid - they've got this thing called Home and Community Based Services that can help with care costs. Don't forget to check with your local Area Agency on Aging too - they often know about smaller, local programs that can pitch in. Oh, and some states have programs where they'll actually pay family caregivers. It's worth asking about.
