What to do when there's nobody to help

Our social security is literally $5 too much to receive Medicaid for my husband who has Alzheimer's, and this eliminates him from the possibility of inpatient or outpatient or memory care that is paid for by Medicaid. Medicare only covers doctor's visits and some medications right now. Family lives far away and there doesn't appear to be support outside of support groups and some tiny bit of respite occasionally. Grateful but concerned. Any ideas? Some of the resources feel like putting a Band-Aid on an amputated leg!

I was told by our Nurse Practitioner that my mom could get Dementia Hospice. Covers a caregiver to assist with bathing 2x a week, incontinence products like Depends. I wish you luck.
